Our show at Upstairs tomorrow night (Wednesday, Feb 15, 8:30pm-midnight) is going to be streaming on-line!

None of us has ever streamed before and we’re very excited.

Actually, we’re just excited to be playing a show and getting some of that new music we’ve been working on out there for the first time.

If you’re in Montreal, we’d love to play it for you in person. If not, the next best thing is to get it to you live via this crazy technology…

Nominated! …and… a mini-tour!

Our lovely guitarist, Eric Couture-Telmosse, has been nominated for a jazz studies scholarship at Concordia!

So we’ll be doing a little set at The Oscar Peterson Concert Hall this Wednesday at 8pm. Tickets are 5 bucks.

Besides that… we’ve been putting our collective nose to the grindstone… working on getting a few little ditties ready in time for our upcoming tour.

Speaking of which…. we’re looking forward to shows at Manhattans in Guelph(Nov 28), the newly inaugurated “Jazz Room” in Waterloo(Nov 26), The London Music Club (Nov 25, with our friends the always-inspiring Cladda), and The Kubo Lounge in Peterborough(Nov 29). And, as usual, we’ll have the pleasure of teaching some kids all about the glamourous jazz lifestyle at workshops in Waterloo and Peterborough.

Kite in Peterborough

We’re here in sunny Peterborough getting ready for our show this evening at The Spill. Eric watched at least 5 episodes of Family Guy and hasn’t stopped laughing yet. But we’re all feeling fresher than a morning fawn after waking up to the loudest Neil Young we’ve ever heard, and then taking the best shower in our lives (not at the same time)… seriously… if you’re ever in the area you should come take a shower at the Spill… it’s like bathing in a hot waterfall…

Yesterday was a day off of sorts which consisted mainly of foraging for band sustenance at the Kanata Loblaws (shout out to our Kanata peeps, Lucas and Wayne, for putting us up and wining and dining us).

Français sti :Bon, ben du fun pis des jokes plates… On mange bien, de la bonne musique, pis jre out for now!

Tour/Recording Prep

It’s December already!! That’s right, the season of Santa, elves and reindeer (and Menorahs and latkes as well.) That also means that here in Montreal the weather changes from pouring rain to slushy-snow-ice in one day! Lovely.

After a great fundraiser with Montreal girl group Takk at L’Escalier, we three in Kite are having last minute rehearsals and going over final details before starting our tour on the 6th. It all kicks off with Parc-X trio at Casa Del Popolo. This will be the first time that we’ve played with guys in Parc-X and should be a blindingly fun evening!

After Casa we’ll hit up Ottawa, Peterborough, Hamilton, London, Guelph and Kitchener. Get ready Ontario!

We’ll have a day of rest and then it’ll be studio time. We’re recording our album at The Barn Window Studios in Ontario with engineer Corey Barnes and getting it mixed and mastered by heavy-weight Roman Klun

..I think I can speak for all of us when I say we’re quivering with excitement! Keep your eyes out for more updates from the road!
